It's such a shame that the class is already over. I didn't feel stressed at all, learned so much, and had so much fun! :) It’s a great class for beginners. I’ll be waiting for your next class! 🙏🙏🙏
I saw a pretty house on Instagram and wanted to draw it! I still don't like the composition and coloring and I don't know what to do; Still, it's my first work I drew by myself, so I'm proud ^^
I'm actually learning how to bake, so I drew more types of bread, but it's not easy. I’m going to try again once I’m finished with the basics! I added ciabatta, toast, cornbread, a strawberry Danish, and blueberry bagel. The strawberries look a bit awkward, haha. I need to practice more.

Start your drawing journey here
Have you been wanting to draw again? To pick up a pencil and some paper and just create? This class was designed for beginners, to teach you the basic techniques of drawing with markers and colored pencils. Through this class, you will build a strong foundation for art.
An overview of the class
The class consists of 4 chapters, and you will make a total of 5-10 works of art throughout the class. It takes about 10 to 20 minutes to create a work. The time you need will vary depending on the speed of your progress.
Here’s what you’ll learn
Together, we will draw a small picture every day with markers and colored pencils. I like the analog feel of black and white silent movies, where the technology wasn't developed. I don't think that only people with brilliant skills and excellent talent can paint. I thought I wanted to convey a warm message that I forgot, which I couldn't find in digital. In this class, we are going to take the time to share the emotions.
A preview of the class
I listened to as many people as I could when creating the class, and tried to adjust and modify the curriculum based on a number of opinions. I know I can't satisfy everyone, but I did my best to prepare. For this class for beginners, I will teach slowly for people new to art and drawing. It may be a bit uncomfortable and slow for people who already have a good grasp on drawing. You will draw illustrations by mimicking my style, but I hope that after the class is over, you can complete drawings with your own story.
Yesterday's life, which is easy to forget, the dream-like notions of today, the fluttering promises of tomorrow that have not yet come. Your story begins with all these moments. Just start to draw, little by little, and let your imagination fill the page.
Your artistic journey starts here.

Step 01 : Drawing with Markers
Markers are one of the best tools to use as an aspiring artist. They bring the watery texture of watercolors, but without the hassle of having to mix colors. Learn how to use markers to their full potential.

Artist Sungkyou Bae
Hello, I’m Bae Sungkyou, a freelance illustrator who runs the graphics studio 'Ending Credit'.
I'm also working as a calligraphy designer!
Are you having a special day?
Have you ever forgotten the preciousness of that trivial everyday life?
Every day is happy and dreamy, and I talk about those special moments.
It's been 5 years since I started a job as a freelance artist after I resigned from a design company because I wanted to draw what I wanted to, not the ones I was asked to.
I'm working hard in various fields such as illustration, cosmetic package, fashion brand, album cover, exhibition, franchise cafe illustration, and corporate collaboration!

A warm illustration to talk about
As an illustrator, I started to take my first steps sincerely and started as an artist in 2015 after being elected to the Naver Portfolio Storypick Artist Contest.
I drew about the time of the day that a puppy called 'Chapsaldok', a puppy that looks white and chewy like glutinous rice cake, dreams. It's a picture of everyday life that we face everywhere, including houses, streets, and cafes.
When I applied, I wanted to communicate with many people through my illustrations rather than achieve the goal of being elected. The reason I started painting when I was young was because I liked people communicating with my drawings.
I was selected as the Top Creator of Naver Portfolio in 2015 and 2016 as I was working on a ‘Chapsaldok,’ and personally I was loved by so many people.
I wanted to convey the textures of analog by fully using the analog feeling and warm materials and colors of black and white silent movies before technology was developed.
By presenting the beauty that has already passed. I thought that times of brilliant visual effects or surprisingly new plot developments weren't all too close.

1. Copic Sketch Markers
Markers with much more color composition than standard markers, and its color development and texture are stable. Basically, the color change is excellent, so you can purchase as many colors as you like for the pictures you need!
2. Alpha Brush Markers
Various colors can be applied by using a wide surface and a brush at the same time. Since it is a standard marker, it is cheaper than Copic sketch markers, so it is better to use this cheap alpha marker when painting a large area that uses a lot of ink.
3. Prisma colored pencils
Colored pencils that work well with Copic markers, so they don't smear even in water! It is a tool that makes the color of markers more beautiful and rich in color.
4. Prisma pencil sharpener
A pencil sharpener for Prisma colored pencils. You can select your desired thickness and seam, and the price is relatively inexpensive, so if you change it frequently, you will always get a clean cut.
5. Fabriano Sketchbook A5 (120g)
A neutral paper made of 100% cellulose. It will preserve your work well, and it shows the ideal coloring power when using colored pencils.
6. Samwon Fabriano PostCard Hot Press (300g)
A high-quality, smooth-grained paper that can be detailed. Because the texture is fine, the colored pencils are gently expressed. Because of its thick nature, it does not bleed when coloring with markers. It is the best paper for illustration work.
7. Gelly roll pen (0.8 / white)
A water-based pigment ink pen that comes out vividly and softly. It is a pen that helps to produce a more colorful and vivid look.
Individual components may have color changes.
📩 Packages are subject to change and students will be fully informed in such cases.

Q. I am new to markers. Will I be able to follow along well?
A. The marker is a tool with many advantages! Watercolor paints are made by mixing colors, water needs to be adjusted, and even beginners may not have the skills to start right away, but markers have ink in the pen, so you can buy the color you want and use it right on the paper. Because it saves drying time, there is also an advantage that you can apply it without waiting for a layer to dry, even when applying different colors. It's a tool that combines brushes and paints, so it's much easier to draw with!
Q. Can you draw on your own different from what you learn in class?
A. Of course! There are certain items that I will teach you, but after class, you can draw other things in the colors you used in class. You can draw matcha cakes in olive-green color painted grass, brown wood-painted wooden cabinets, dark blue-painted night sky with winter sweaters, or expand your imagination and draw anything you want!
Q. I would like to have a unique color or style like Sung Kyu, what should I do after class?
A. It would be great to be able to face each other and talk about illustrations and find your direction, but since it is an online class that is conducted with many people, it is a pity that I cannot meet with each person directly. The most important thing is making drawing a habit! This is because a great and lifelike painting is not the basis for good art. Whether you're drawing a coffee ordered in a short time waiting for a friend at a cafe, or just drawing a few things you like on the desk before you come home and fall asleep. Even if you draw only 1 or 3 or 4 times a week, if you don't noticeably develop immediately, you'll see it getting better! What matters is the process and direction rather than speed! It's also good to take a look at your favorite artist's drawings and do research. Rather than doing it as a ritual, it's about applying yourself and trying different things in many ways. Photography has the charm of capturing what you see, but the advantage of painting is that you can draw as much as you like and draw anything you want. If you don't like the vase you want to draw, you can look for another vase and draw that instead! Still, it's good to practice drawing objects as if you’re putting together a puzzle while imagining them rather than looking and drawing!
